Respectful
- This can be summed up with the saying, “The teacher has the right to teach, and the student has the right to learn.” Behavior that interferes with my right to teach, or another student’s right to learn will not be tolerated.
- Everyone should feel free to participate in class.
- The desks, books, etc. in this room do not belong to you, please treat them accordingly.
Responsible
- Your job in this class is to learn. Just as with any other job, you are responsible for your performance. I am here to help you, but it is up to you to do the best that you can each day. For that reason, there are a few things that you need to remember:
- Be Prepared – Come to class each day ready to go. This means you need to bring your workbook, a pencil or pen, and your textbook, unless I tell you otherwise.
- Absences – If you are not in class for any reason, it is up to you to make sure that you make up the work that you missed. You will also need to show me any assignments that were due during your absence. This website is updated on a daily basis, and all assignments, handouts, notes, and upcoming events may be found here by clicking on the assignment link under your grade level. It is also your responsibility to be aware of the attendance policy at Franklin Academy, and keep track of your absences.
- Grading – Your grade for this course is calculated as follows:
- 15% - homework and class assignments
- 40% - quizzes
- 45% - tests
- *** Please note, I do not give extra credit assignments, and I don’t drop
- grades.
- Extra Help – We all need extra help occasionally, and that’s what I’m here for. It is up to you, however, to make arrangements with me. In addition to class time, I’m available at the following times:
- Before Homeroom
- 1st Period
- 5th Period (by appointment)
- After School
- Cheating – Cheating is passing someone else’s work off as your own, or helping someone else pass yours off as theirs. Don’t do it.
Cooperative
- You are all young adults, so act like it. I will treat you like an adult in this classroom until you give me a reason to do otherwise.
Safe
- Please don’t do anything that endangers the health or well-being of yourself, or anyone else.
